Introducing the Cement Conference Subcommittee

The mission of the Cement Conference Subcommittee (CCS) is to support and enhance the IEEE-IAS/ACA Cement Conference (the Conference) and elevate the ACA member experience.  This subcommittee will collaborate with, and support the planning and work done by ACA staff and by the IEEE Industry Applications Society (IAS) Cement Industry Committee (CIC) and Local Organizing Committee (LOC). 

The CCS will ensure alignment with ACA goals, promote member engagement, and foster an inclusive environment that maximizes value for attendees, exhibitors, and sponsors. The CCS will make recommendations related to the Conference promotion.

This year, the ACA Annual Meeting is moving from a brief virtual format to a full in-person session with expanded content and greater engagement.

The meeting will include:

  • Committee Reports highlighting key initiatives and progress
  • A U.S. Cement Industry Economic Forecast
  • Updates on ACA’s strategy, advocacy efforts, and member services

Guest Speaker Spotlight 

Industry Communications CommitteeRotem Hinkis of the global PR firm APCO will share a presentation titled: Managing Reputation in the Generative AI Era. This presentation will explore how generative AI and large language models (LLMs) are transforming the way reputations are formed and perceived in today’s digital environment-and what communicators need to do to adapt.

Key areas include:

  1. AI-Driven Information Consumption: How LLMs like ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and Copilot are beginning to replace traditional search engines and communications channels.
  2. New Reputational Risks: The challenges of AI models trained on imperfect datasets that may perpetuate misinformation or generate inaccuracies.
  3. Strategic AI Reputation Management: Frameworks for optimizing content for AI consumption, identifying source pathways, and maintaining proactive monitoring of AI-generated representations.

About Rotem: Rotem Hinkis is a Business Intelligence Lead for APCO in Europe and specializes in synthesizing behavioral data, social listening, media measurement, and AI-driven research methodologies into cohesive communications strategies.
